Wrong...
I have been having contractions all weekend.. and still no baby. We all thought it would happen either last night or early this morning.
Last night I woke up every 2 hours, would have contractions every 5 minutes or so for about 20-30 minutes, then nothing and would go back to sleep. This happened every.two.hours... not fun. My poor husband was in that half asleep half alert stage all night and everytime I would sigh or move he would wake up and ask if I was ok. Needless to say he was very tired this morning and had to drag himself out of bed to go to work.
He kept asking me if he needed to stay home or if he should go to work.. I think he wanted me to tell him to stay home because I was having this kid.. NOW! But I didn't, so off he went.
So with several more hours of off and on again contractions.. here I sit uncomfortable from by dropping baby (which dropped even lower on Sunday) and the irregular or kind of regular contractions which are getting stronger.. which is a good thing.
I am disappointed that I am not in labor yet, but then I think about it and realize that I am still early and would be one of the lucky ones if I had this little baby anytime before my due date. Which is still 14 days away. So I guess I should be happy and patient. :) This baby will come when it is ready.. even though its mama is ready now.

Place your bets..
Ok so there really won't be an actual betting, but it makes for a fun title.
We had our Dr appointment as I mentioned earlier. We were a little late to we had to wait FOREVER! But that is no one's fault other than our own.
The official verdict:
I am 2 cm dialated and 90% effaced! WHAT?! Seriously?!
She says that she would not be suprised if I went into labor this weekend. I guess my husband could actually be right. lol
I am 37 weeks and 5 days. We are really excited, but still trying not to be too anxious. I started having major contraction pains on Wednesday after lunch. Before that, my stomach would just feel tight and uncomfortable. Now they feel like cramps, with the tightening and and achy pain in my back. Obviously they were doing some work!
So to be on the safe side, we took a few photos in Kim's backyard... Just in case. ;)
The baby has dropped quite a bit and she said the head is "right there." You can see how low my belly looks. I will say that it is so nice to be able to breathe.

So here is where you come in... Place your vote on whether it will be a boy or a girl and when you think I will pop this kid out. I will try to think of something fabulous to give away.. but I can't make any promises!
In the mean time.. I have lots of work to do.. first thing: pack my hospital bag.
Stressed
Why am I stressed?
Well I have a list about a mile long that I would like to get done before my dear sweet child decides to enter this world and my nesting is gone.. GONE! Is that possible.. yes folks it is. I am one of the few described in the books who actually gets tired and takes naps before their baby gets here.
Why me? The nursery still is not complete.. but at least we are making progress. Or should I say that my husband is making progress because I am worthless these days. We still do not have the furniture because somehow the store or the company who makes the furniture screwed up and I will not have my beautiful dresser/combo hutch or my crib until the end of the month!
Also, I have not had a doctor's appointment in over a month. It got pushed back because something came up with my doctor and I have to be seen by a nurse prac. and had to be fit into her schedule.. Um hello people I am almost 38 weeks! and have not been checked or tested for all the stuff that I need to be tested for before I go into labor (ie. strep b). We do however have our dr appt today.. so we will see how that goes.
Our bags are not packed for the hospital.. I mean the baby has all its stuff packed and ready to go, but as for my husband and I.. nada.
Every time I think I am going to start packing.. something better and more appealing comes along, like napping or doing nothing. I am just too tired and it is frustrating.
I have to try to get ahead in school because I do not want to fall behind in my classes when the baby comes. I luckily have all online classes except for one.
AND to top it all off... I have been having a crazy amount of Braxton Hicks and cramping and back pain. That could mean nothing.. but it still stresses me out and is not very comfortable when I am trying to nap my days away. ;) And my husband is convinced that I will in fact go into labor on Easter Sunday. I think he is nuts... but it makes me wonder because my mom went into labor early with my brother and I.
Just thinking about all this is making me tired... nap time??

Busy busy
This weekend is going to be a very busy one.. starting today. I have so much stuff I need to jam pack into these 3 days and I am not exactly sure I am going to get it all done.
But I HAVE to.
First, there is the cleaning. I have to clean my house today. Why? I don't know. I just feel the need to have to clean it. I know I will probably have people over this weekend and I have no time any of the other days. I mean, my house isn't messy or dirty.. but I need to do the tedious cleaning that I have been avoiding the past two weeks. UGH.
Then I have to go to my mom's friend's house to help set up for the baby shower tomorrow. (So exctied!) I know what you are thinking.. "you are setting up for your own baby shower?" I can't help it.. I am a hands on kind of girl and can't just sit back and watch people doing things around me. I have always felt the need to get into the action.
Also there are the random things that I have to do throughout the day, like take back movies and such.
Saturday is my baby shower! Woohoo! Which I have to get up and shower and get ready for. That is a chore in itself and may or may not require a nap afterwards. But no time for naps because it starts at noon.. which means that I have to be there early. You know it is my shower and all. It would be a little tacky if I was late.
There is the tedious, but oh fo fun task of loading up all the goods, taking them home and googling and "awe"ing over each and every one of them. Yessss! And I have to unpack them and look at them some more and say just how cute and tiny everything is.
That brings me to Sunday... oh sunday.
Church. Then lunch. (very important) Then we HAVE to finish the baby's room. (even though my dresser and hutch are not even in yet.. "but ready to be shipped from the warehouse") and I still have so much to do with the bedding. And we have a bunch of furniture we have been given by relatives (Thank you so much!) that is STILL in the garage that needs to be cleaned off and found a home in the house. I know where I think I want most of it to go... but that can change.. and it probably will.
There is just still a lot to do in the house and outside and I would ideally like to have it all done before the baby comes.. but that it soon... very soon. 4 more weeks!! Ahh! (insert panic attack here)
So all in all... today and Sunday I will be a total crazy person.. and may possible break down into tears a few times. But hey.. what else is new these days.

Welcome to the Jungle...
Or my backyard.. either one.
We have been neglecting our poor backyard since we moved in. We have been so busy working on the front and the inside that we have completely ignored the fast growing weeds that have consumed our backyard.
We have not been too concerned with it because it isn't landscaped and we really have nothing to upkeep back there.. besides by husband's cacti... which are in a pot on our lovely patio furniture. Even though we have no patio.
I know all you photogs out there are always looking for new places to take pictures.. How about in my beautiful wildflowers? Any takers? No?

We can't spray the whole yard with weed killer because of Daisy. Kurt plans on mowing it all down this weekend.. but since we will be going to the beach, I think it might have to wait until next weekend.
Daisy likes to run around out there. It is pretty funny to watch her bob and weave through the tall stalks of who knows what they are.
We even talked about having our Easter picnic out there in the wilderness. Hey.. I mean we wouldn't have to go very far and there are TWO working bathrooms. Both very important to a girl who is 8 months pregnant.

Happy Anniversary!
One year.. twelve months... 365 days.
This past year has been amazing and I have fallen even more in love with the man that I married one year ago today. Our year has been full of so many exciting things and amazing memories. I never imagined being so blessed. God has truly blessed us with so many opportunities and surrounded us with amazing friends and family. And now we will be welcoming a new addition to our family in about 6 short weeks (give or take a few).

This is where it gets mushy.
My husband has been so amazing this past year. He got an amazing job (which could be in danger.. darn layoffs) which allowed me to quit working and to focus on school. I love him more and more each day because he works so hard to support or family all while going to school at night to finish getting his degree.. which he will be completely finished on Friday! I am so proud of him. I am really excited to the arrival of our little one.. but it was so nice to spend the day with my husband.. just my husband and reflect on the past year and talk about the future. I cannot wait for many more years to come with the most amazing husband a girl could ask for.

No cake smashing here. It was waaaaay to good to waste like that.

So what did we do on this wonderful anniversary you ask.. Why we did homework, went to school and wrote papers! All while battling beautiful colds. Our anniversary was full of Kleenex and final papers. How is that for a "Paper Anniversary"

I love this picture. It really felt like there was no one else in the world.

And what would any anniversary post be without pictures from the wedding. These were just the ones that were on my computer.. Kurt's mom has the CD which I should probably get so I can pick out the pictures for our wedding album which I have yet to do.

Progress
My husband has been working around the house and in the yard like crazy for the past couple of weekends. His bother Justin even came over and helped him paint the first half of the nursery. It took a couple more days after that for the bottom half to get painted.
But it is finished! He is working so hard to get everything finished before the baby gets here. We are also trying to get the front yard finished.. and will hopefully get flowers and plants next weekend. We have so many projects to do on top of trying to finish school. (only 2 more weeks and he is completely done!!!)
I really like the colors of the nursery. My mom and I also painted the chair rail that will separate the colors. But more on that when I get them put up. That is on the list for tomorrow.
We also picked up the crib last weekend, brought it home and found out it was the wrong one! Ugh so frustrating. The crib I had ordered is not in stock in the company warehouse that makes it and will not be until April 19th. (Um hello, I am due the 27th) It will then have to be shipped to the store and should get there about a week later, so around my due date, I will get my crib. The store was very nice and said we could keep the crib we have now until mine gets here and when it comes in, the will deliver the new crib, set it up, and take the wrong one away. Does it get any nicer than that. So we will probably put together the crib tomorrow. It is the same color and almost the same style as the one I wanted, so it will do for now. :)
A little more progress that has been going on around here is a growing belly. I am 33 weeks! Seriously 33!! Where did the time go? Baby Thompson is very active.. VERY active. It moves and stretches all the time. I love feeling each movement... until those movements involve my organs and ribs.
I feel huge. I know that I am not very big, mainly because people comment on how tiny my belly is, maybe they are lying.. hmm who knows. (Thank you for stroking my ego if you are ;) ) But I feel gigantic!
We also had a 4D ultrasound last week, which I will post pictures of soon. Our sweet little baby has the biggest cheeks. So cute. I can't wait! It is also transverse and we are hoping it will turn in the upcoming weeks. We have a doctor appointment on Tuesday, so I will have an update on what the plan will be.
