Disclaimer: This is long.. and may be TMI. I am not complaining in any way.. just recalling my experience. :) And there are no pictures for your viewing pleasure. Just words.. Lots of words.
You think it is gone.. then it comes back and hits you like a ton of bricks.
I guess I will give you the ER story now.
A couple of Fridays ago, my husband and I were calling my doctor because I was sick.. I mean not keeping ANYTHING in my body. (throwing up or otherwise) When those two things hit you, it is the worst! But I was dealing with it, because you really have no idea what "morning sickness" is like until you experience it first-hand. I thought I was one of the lucky ones who do not throw up 14 times in one day like some other moms have told me. I felt sick all day, but was throwing up everything I ate or drank. I could feel my body getting weaker and weaker. So Kurt called the advice nurse. It was 11pm. She advised us to go to ER right away. I thought she was nuts, I mean I was fine, just a little tired.
When we got to the ER around 11:30pm, I was feeling horrible. I thought I was going to pass out at any moment. They took my blood, I peed in a cup.. and I waited. But as the hours passed, I was feeling better and better, I even ate a granola bar out of the vending machine and took a nap. We finally got called back to a room at about 3am. I changed into one of those silly little gowns and waited some more. The nurse came in, did the usual check up and said the doctor would be in shortly.
The doctor came in and talked to us for a little while. Basically he told me that I was over-reacting and to go buy the book "What to expect when you are expecting." We explained to him that I knew that throwing up was a part of pregnancy, but it was coupled with diarrhea and that is what I was worried about. He kind of rolled his eyes and said "Yes you are a little dehydrated, so we will give you some fluids and some medicine for the nausea and send you home."
Then we waited some more. I was really tired at this point and wanted to go home and just drink some more Gatorade. He made it seem like I was fine. Then the nurse came in with 2 HUGE bags of fluids. It was 2 liters of fluids. We asked the nurse why so much becuase the doctor had said I was only a little dehydrated. He told us that the doctors idea of little was that I was alive and breathing. I was so mad. That docotr made me feel like an idiot for even being there in the first place. and now it was 4am.
The nurse tried to get an IV in my right arm, (my left arm was already poked by the triage nurse) he kept poking through my vain. He was digging, wiggling, the poking with his finger, then wiggling some more. Kurt said he was getting a little woosy just watching. When he tried to flush my vain, he messed it up somehow and had to find a new spot. So he ended up putting the IV in the side of my wrist. What!? I have never seen that before.. and I know why. He stuck me with that needle and it hurt worse than the 5 minutes he spent wiggling in my arm. I was feeling sick at that point and threw up with half a needle in my arm. He didn't like that very much.
So I got my fluids and he said I was going to have to pee really bad when they were done. I did go to the bathroom, but only once and not any large amount like he said. I guess my body just soaked it up. Then we went home at 5:30 am. We were all tired.. and a little annoyed at the doctor. My diagnosis on my discharge papers.... Pregnancy Induced Vomitting!!! Seriously?
Well.. now that we have that all out.. I have felt fine ever since I got back from the ER. No real nausea or throwing up. I mean I have been tired.. but not sick. I thought.. maybe I didn't have morning sickness.. maybe it was just a bug. I feel fine now.
That was until last night. And this morning. Welcome back nausea and vomit. And along with that comes PEEING YOUR PANTS! No one told me about that part. They don't tell you that when you throw up.. you pee your pants too. Seriously. I can't help but just laugh. What kind of grown adults pees their pants. And I am supposed to teach this kid potty training one day..

Anniverary and update
Hello blog.. have you missed me? I am sorry for neglecting you. Let me explain. I have been busy.. I know I know likely story but it is true.
So to start things off, I am sure you are all dying to know about our house situation. Well, since my last post, which by the way we heard nothing on that house at all, we put an offer in on another house a few streets over and WE GOT IT!!! We are well on our way to being home owners. We just got the inspection report back. There is an issue with the breaker box that made this deal feel like it was going to fall apart. But we talked to an electritian and he said it was not as big of a deal as the inspector had made it out to be. All in all, it will cost a couple hundred dollars to fix. So it looks like we will be moving into our beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, with a tech center house in early October. That is soooo soon!! Escrow is set to close October 2nd! But we think, as does the lender, that it will go over this date, but we do not have to pay any late fees so we are ok with that.
Also, the 16th was our "anniversary." We have been married for 6 whole months. We didn't celebrate or anything, just something we thought of as we were leaving dinner with my parents. We then started thinking about everything that has happened in the past 6 months. Let's recap, shall we?
New job, new truck, new house, new BABY!!!!
Sorry the picture is blurry. This was the little camera. But you get the point.
That's right folks, Kurt and I are joining the ranks of all you parents out there. We are so excited!
I feel like I am joining a secret club. Super secret mommy society. ;)
We had our first appointment on the 16th! We didn't get an ultrasound but we will get one when I am 12 weeks. I am currently 8 weeks.
I will fill you in on my experience later, because it is late and I am tired. I have been baking all day. Baking a bun in my own oven. But I can guarantee it is full of excitement, complete with trips to the ER and all. :)
